At 123 PM this afternoon the temperature of 86 degrees ties the all-
time record high for Nome. The previous two times the temperature has
risen to 86 degrees was back on July 31st 1977 and July 8th 1968.

Tuesday was another day of record temperatures in the interior of
Alaska.

Several locations in interior Alaska reported a new record high or
tied a record high for Tuesday June 18th.

A new record high temperature of 91 degrees was reported at
McGrath. The old record for June 18th was 84 set in 1962.

A high temperature of 86 degrees at Tanana tied the record for
June 18th set in 1967.

The previously reported new record high for eielson was in error.
The record high for eielson on Tuesday is 90 set in 1948... which
remains unbroken.
