Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am PST /11 am MST/ this
morning to midnight PST /1 am MST/ tonight...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect for much of San
Bernardino County... Death Valley National Park... southern Nye
County... western and southern Clark County and southern Mohave
County from 10 am PST /11 am MST/ this morning to midnight PST /1
am MST/ tonight .

* Winds: south to southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* Timing: the strongest winds are expected to develop late this
morning in the western deserts and then spread east this
afternoon. The stronger winds are expected to continue this
evening before tapering off by midnight.

* Locations: Barstow... furnace creek... Pahrump... desert rock...
Amargosa Valley... Searchlight... Primm... Kingman... .

* impacts: difficult driving conditions due to strong
Crosswinds and possible reduced visibility in blowing dust
and sand.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that Crosswinds are expected to be strong
enough to make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. In addition... strong winds over desert areas could result
in briefly lowered visibilities to well under a mile at times in
blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra caution.
