Special Weather Statement

... Wet weather to impact Southern California next week...

A series of low pressure systems will impact Southern California
next week bringing much cooler weather and periods of rain and
mountain snow.

A storm system is expected to develop off the coast Monday and
then move into the area Tuesday. Rain showers could arrive as
early as Tuesday morning and continue through Wednesday. There is
a chance that this storm system could tap into subtropical
moisture... enhancing the potential for heavier rain and debris
flows in recently burned areas. Snow is also possible at resort
levels... especially by Wednesday as colder air moves into the
region. In addition... temperatures are expected to be about 10
degrees below average in most areas.

A few light showers may linger on Thanksgiving as cool... unsettled
weather continues. A second... colder storm system may move into
the area late Friday or Saturday. There is still quite a bit of
uncertainty regarding the strength... track... and timing of this
system... however another round of valley rain and mountain snow is
possible.

Residents living in and below recent burn areas... and people with
outdoor activities or travel plans next week should monitor the
forecast for the potential for heavy rain and mountain snow.
