Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory in effect from 1 PM Monday to midnight PST
Monday night...

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 1 PM Monday to midnight PST
Monday night.

* Affected area... Joshua Tree National Park... southwest and north
central portions of Imperial County... including Interstate 8..and
higher elevations in Riverside County.

* Timing... from 1 PM Monday to midnight PST Monday night.

* Winds... west winds sustained at 25 to 35 mph... with gusts to 45 mph.

* Impacts... travel difficulties for high profile vehicles... and the
potential for areas of reduced visibilities due to blowing dust or
sand.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected... or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially
for high profile vehicles. In addition... strong winds over desert
areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under
a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra
caution.
