... High surf advisory remains in effect from 2 PM this afternoon
to 8 am PST Tuesday...

* surf and timing... 6 to 8 foot surf will develop after noon
today and persist through the overnight hours. Surf will
subside by Tuesday morning.

* Impacts... strong rip currents will exist just about everywhere
making ocean activities potentially dangerous for anyone.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.

Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
9 PM PST this evening.

* Winds... areas of west winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* Timing... increasing this afternoon... then weakening after mid-
evening.

* Impacts... winds this strong can make driving difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Freeways 405... 110... and
105 will be most affected.
