High Surf Advisory


... High surf advisory remains in effect until 8 am PST Tuesday...

* surf and timing... 6 to 8 foot surf will continue through the
overnight hours. Surf will subside by Tuesday morning.

* Impacts... strong rip currents will exist just about everywhere
making ocean activities potentially dangerous for anyone.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.

* winds... west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Timing... continuing this this evening... then weakening after midnight.

* Impacts... winds this strong can make driving difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Major roadways that could
be impacted include highways 1 and 101 in Ventura County... .and
the 405 freeway and Pacific coast Highway in Los Angeles County.
