Fire Weather Warning, Fire Weather Watch

... Red flag warning in effect until 7 PM EST this evening for
strong winds and low humidities...
... Fire Weather Watch in effect Thursday afternoon for winds
and low humidities...
... Fire Weather Watch in effect Friday afternoon for low humidities...

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a red
flag warning... which is in effect until 7 PM EST this evening. A
Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch
is in effect Thursday afternoon. In addition... a Fire Weather
Watch has been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect
Friday afternoon.

Very strong west winds sustained near 20 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 40 mph will preceded and trail a cold front as it moves across
southeast Georgia and northeast Florida this afternoon and
early evening. Relative humidities will near 30 to 35 percent.

A secondary front will approach the area Thursday. Breezy west winds
around 20 mph with higher gusts will develop over the area as relative
humidities fall below critical values. A Fire Weather Watch has been
issued.

Friday very dry air will persist over the area which will cause relative
humidities to fall below critical values for extended durations. A
Fire Weather Watch has been issued.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.
