Fire Weather Watch

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from 11 am EDT until 8 PM EDT
Thursday for the interior and east Metro areas of South Florida...

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Fire Weather
Watch... which is in effect from from 11 am EDT until 8 PM EDT
Thursday for the interior and east Metro areas of South Florida.

A cold front will move through South Florida this evening allowing for
much drier air to work in to the area from the north tonight into
Thursday. This will allow for the dew points to fall into the mid
to upper 30s over the interior areas... to the mid to upper 40s
over the Metro areas. Temperatures will also be in the mid 70s
over most of South Florida on Thursday... except along the east
coastal areas and the West Coast Metro areas where they will be
in the lower 70s.

Therefore... the relative humidities will be able to fall below 35
percent for 4 hours or more on Thursday over most of South
Florida... except along the east coastal areas and the West Coast
Metro areas where they will remain near the 35 percent.

So a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for all of South Florida
from 11 am EDT until 8 PM EDT Thursday... except for the east
coastal areas and the west Metro areas of South Florida.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.
