Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory now in effect until 7 PM EST this evening
for north and central Georgia...

The Wind Advisory for north and central Georgia is now in effect
from 11 am EST this morning until 7 PM EST this evening.

A cold front has pushed into south and southeast Georgia this
morning. The pressure gradient behind the front continues to
strengthen... and is now creating strong northwesterly winds in
its wake. Therefore... the beginning time of this advisory has been
moved up to begin at 11 am EST this morning. Winds across north
and central Georgia are beginning to gust to around 25 mph... and
the sustained winds are expected to increase to around 22 to 25
mph with gust near 35 mph by this afternoon. These strong winds
will persist into the early evening hours.

Remember... a Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 20 to 35
mph or wind gusts of at least 35 mph are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
