near the city of Boone.

* At 9:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 23.6 feet... and rising.
* Flood stage is 14 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast... rise to 26.6 feet Friday afternoon... then begin falling.
