A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Saturday.
* Timing... snow will continue tonight with a brief transition
marked by a period of sleet before the snow starts. Snow will
continue throughout the day Saturday... with periods of heavy
snow during the day.
* Snow accumulations... of 4 to 6 inches are expected by Saturday
evening... with isolated higher amounts possible. Some of this
accumulation could be a mixture of snow and sleet.
* Winds... of 25 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected
tonight and Saturday.
* Impacts... the gusty winds could result in some drifting of the
heavy wet snow. Snow covered and slick roadways are expected.
The heavy wet snow may cause damage to outdoor vegetation
which has already sprouted leaves.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant winter weather is
expected or occurring. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.
