Winter Storm Warning


... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 7 am
CDT Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for snow... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 7 am
CDT Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.


* Timing... rain will begin late this afternoon then change over to
snow during the late evening hours. Snow... locally heavy at
times... will fall from late tonight through Sunday morning.

* Total snow accumulations... snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches
or greater is expected.

* Winds... north winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph will
be possible early Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

* Impacts... heavy snow combined with strong winds tonight
through Sunday morning will reduce visibilities and make for
hazardous travel conditions.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Wintry precipitation is forecast to accumulate in the affected
areas causing hazardous driving conditions. Those with travel
plans are advised to choose an alternate Route... or should use
extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.
