Special Statement

... Patchy frost possible late tonight across the eastern Bluegrass
region of central Kentucky.

An unusually cold air mass for mid to late may is forecast to push
through the region tonight. With high pressure in place... clear
skies and light winds will set the stage for surface temperatures
to fall into the upper 30s across the eastern sections of the
Bluegrass region of central Kentucky. While most locations will
likely see temperatures fall to around 40 degrees overnight... some
of the deeper valley and traditional cold spots may see temperatures
drop as low as the middle 30s. In these areas... some very patchy
frost may develop late tonight.

At this time a widespread frost is not anticipated. However... with
the growing season in full swing... residents who live in the
deeper valleys and sheltered regions should take precautions to
protect sensitive vegetation tonight.
