Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today.

The Wind Advisory includes much of Rhode Island from Providence
south to the coast... as well as southeast Massachusetts and the
Blue Hills.

West winds will increase rapidly late tonight as a low pressure
moves away from southern New England.

Sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph are
possible across southern Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts...
especially between 4 am and 10 am today.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds
this strong are capable of Downing small tree limbs and
branches... possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving can
also be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
