Areal Flood Warning


The National Weather Service in Taunton has extended the

* Flood Warning for small streams in...
central Bristol County in southeast Massachusetts...
this includes the city of Taunton...
west central Plymouth County in southeast Massachusetts...

* until 500 PM EDT Friday

* at 532 am EDT river levels continue to fall and many small rivers
in southeast Massachusetts have fallen into minor flood or
below. However... the Taunton river in Bridgewater remains in
moderate flood. The Taunton river has crested and will continue
to fall but will remain in moderate flood into this afternoon. It
is expected to fall into minor flood sometime this evening or
or later tonight.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway... including underpasses. The water may be too deep to allow
vehicles to cross safely... or the roadway may be undermined.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Charles River at Dover.
* At 4:00 am Friday the stage was 7.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 6.7 feet
by tomorrow morning.
* Impact... at 8.0 feet... flooding will impact portions of Dover...
Medfield... Millis... Medway... South Natick... Needham and Wellesley
with Road closures and local evacuations possible.
