Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory in effect from 2 am to 12 PM EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 2 am to 12 PM EST Thursday.

The Wind Advisory includes much of Rhode Island from Providence south
to the coast as well as southeast Massachusetts and the Blue Hills.

West winds will increase rapidly late tonight as low pressure
tracks away from southern New England.

Sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph are
possible across southern Rhode Island and southeast
Massachusetts... especially between 4 am and 10 am Thursday.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31
to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds this
strong are capable of Downing small tree limbs and
branches... possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving can also
be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
