morning.
* Areas affected: lower Maryland and Virginia Eastern Shore.
* Hazards: snow and blowing snow.
* Accumulations: locally around 1 inch.
* Winds: northwest 25 to 35 mph... with frequent gusts of 40 to
45 mph.
* Timing: numerous snow showers... tapering off to flurries after 6 am.
* Impacts: limited visibility and the potential for slick roads
especially on elevated surfaces.
Precautionary/preparedness actions... a Winter Weather Advisory
for snow and blowing snow means that visibility will be limited
due to strong winds blowing snow around. Use caution when
traveling... especially in open areas.

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EST Sunday.
* Areas affected: lower Maryland Eastern Shore and Virginia
Eastern Shore including Cambridge... Salisbury... Ocean
City... Melfa... chincoteaguew and Cape Charles.
* Hazards: strong northwest winds in excess of 40 mph.
* Winds: frequent strong wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph with isolated
gusts to near 50 mph.
* Timing: strong winds will persist overnight through 10 am Sunday
morning. Winds will slowly decrease by afternoon.
* Impacts: some minor damage may result from the frequent strong
wind gusts. A few downed trees can be expected. Light objects
such as trash cans and lawn furniture will be blown around.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Snow ending but roads remain icy...
Snow has ended across the Eastern Shore..however... many roads are
partially covered with snow and becoming icy. Law enforcement is
reporting icy roads across all of the Eastern Shore of Maryland
and Virginia. Temperatures are expected to remain well below
freezing through the entire morning allowing ice to linger on area
roads after daybreak. Drive with caution this morning... reducing
speeds... and avoid sudden braking especially on bridges and
overpasses.
