This ties the old record of trace set in 1992. This also ranks as the 8th latest snowfall on record. The latest snowfall on record is a trace that occurred on June 3rd 1990. Weather records for the Marquette National Weather Service office located in Negaunee township date back to 1961. |

The persistence of an upper trough over central and eastern North America resulted in a chilly... active weather pattern over the upper Great Lakes from the middle of January through April. Many locations across Upper Michigan saw a top 10 wettest and snowiest February through April period... with precipitation and snowfall as much as 200 percent or more of the 30-year normal. Record February through April snow fell on Munising in 2013. The 109.5 inches that accumulated there from 2/1 through 4/30 is over 50 inches above the 30-year average and about 3 inches more than the previous record total that fell during this same period in 2002. A few places also experienced a top 10 coldest February through April... with the mean 3-monthly temperatures running 2 to as much as 6 degrees below normal.
