The Flood Warning continues for
the Cottonwood River at New Ulm.
* At 9:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 14.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 15.1 feet by
Friday morning then begin to slowly fall. Additional rises are possible.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 13.9 feet
on Mar 14 2007.
The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has extended the
* Flood Warning for an ice jam and snow melt in...

* at 350 PM CDT... emergency management and local law enforcement
continued to report areal flooding... with multiple reports of ice
jams resulting in flooded roads. Numerous County and township
roads remain closed. Conditions do seem to be improving and
water levels are beginning to recede... but additional
drainage is expected and the potential for more ice jams remains.
* In addition to rural areas... some other locations that
will experience flooding include New Ulm... St James... Blue
Earth... New Richland... Springfield... Henderson...
Mapleton... Waseca... Janesville... New
Germany... Winnebago... Watertown and Mayer.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Runoff from snow melt and ice jams will cause flooding of
small creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along
the banks of creeks and streams.
To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in the
Twin Cities.

the Minnesota river at New Ulm.
* At 8:00 am Wednesday the stage was 799.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 796.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 801.2 feet by
Tuesday early afternoon March 23rd then begin falling. Additional
rises are possible.
* Flood history... this level compares to a previous crest of 799.8
feet on Apr 4 2009.
