the Flood Warning continues for
the Minnesota river at New Ulm.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:00 am Tuesday the stage was 799.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 796.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 801.8 feet by
next Wednesday night March 24th.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 799.8
feet on Apr 4 2009.

* Flood Warning for an ice jam and snow melt in...
Blue Earth County in south central Minnesota...
Brown County in south central Minnesota...

Nicollet County in south central Minnesota...
Sibley County in central Minnesota...

* until 400 PM CDT Tuesday

* at 345 PM CDT... local law enforcement and emergency management
officials reported flooding... with multiple reports of ice jams
causing water over roads. Many County and township roads have been
closed. One major ice jam is on the Minnesota River North of
Henderson. Some residential areas may be threatened.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Blue

Excessive runoff from snow melt and ice jams will cause flooding of
small creeks and streams... highways and underpasses. Additionally...
country roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks... streams and
other low lying areas are subject to flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cottonwood River at New Ulm.
* At 1:00 PM Monday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Wednesday morning and
continue to rise to near 12.3 feet by Saturday morning March 20th.
* Impact... at 13.0 feet... Cottonwood street west of the river becomes
flooded.
* Flood history... this level compares to a previous crest of 13.9 feet
on Mar 14 2007.
