Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* extreme southeast Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks.

* Through Monday morning

* rain will continue this afternoon and evening across far
southern Missouri. Meanwhile a gradual snow melt will begin
across southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri.

* Additional rainfall amounts of one half to one inch will be
possible across far southern Missouri from Branson to Alton.
This heavy rainfall could cause flooding of small streams and
low water crossings.

In addition... rapidly melting snow may result in a continued
risk for flooding early this week.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
