Winter Weather Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this
evening...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this
evening.

A Pacific weather system will bring numerous snow showers to
southwest Montana today and tonight with the heaviest snow showers
occurring this afternoon and evening in Madison and Gallatin
counties. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected
in the lower valleys... including the Bozeman and Ennis areas with
3 to 5 inches in the higher valleys including the West Yellowstone
area. Highest amounts will occur above 7000 feet where 5 to 9
inches are expected. The snow showers are expected to diminish by
late this evening.

Southerly winds of 10 to 20 mph with occasional gusts to 30 mph
will also develop through south to north oriented valleys by
afternoon... reducing visibilities at times in blowing snow during
the afternoon. Winds will become more westerly during the
evening... which may reduce visibilities at times in blowing snow
in more west to east oriented valleys.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
