Special Statement

... Increased fire danger from 10 am EST this morning
through this evening...

Gusty northwest winds will continue to usher in a very dry and
cold air mass across the area today. Very low dewpoints will result in
relative humidity falling to 15 to 25 percent this afternoon
across the foothills and Piedmont of the western Carolinas and northeast
Georgia and the southern mountains of North Carolina. Northwest
winds of 10 to 15 mph... with gusts around 20 mph will combine with
the low relative humidity and dry fuels to enhance the potential for
the spread of wildfire.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn... use extreme caution since fires
can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
