Areal Flood Warning

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
eastern Dickey County in southeast North Dakota...
LaMoure County in southeast North Dakota...
northeastern Logan County in southeast North Dakota...
southern Stutsman County in southeast North Dakota...

* until 500 PM CDT Thursday

* at 447 am CDT... radar estimated that two to five inches of rain
with locally higher amounts fell overnight from near Medina and
Eldridge... through Gackle... Jud... LaMoure... Verona... Fullerton...
Ludden and Oakes. Additional strong to severe thunderstorms are
possible this afternoon and evening with heavy rainfall.

* Runoff from the rainfall overnight will lead to continued overland
flooding across the area... including township and County roads in
low lying areas and locations of poor drainage. Rises on faster
responding creeks and streams are also likely. This warning
replaces the multiple flash flood warnings that were in effect.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
