Winter Weather Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight
tonight to 6 PM CST Monday...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight
to 6 PM CST Monday.

* Timing... an area of light snow will spread northward across
south central Nebraska this evening and overnight... continuing
at times into the daytime hours Monday. In addition to
snow... light freezing drizzle will also be possible at
time... with some areas likely transitioning back and forth from
snow to freezing drizzle.

* Snow and ice accumulation... total snowfall accumulations of 1 to
2 inches are anticipated... with the best potential for 2 inch
amounts focused near and north of Highway 6 in south central
Nebraska. In addition... freezing drizzle is expected to produce
a thin glaze of ice in many areas.

* Impact... the combination of snow and freezing drizzle could
result in slick roadways... especially for Monday morning
commuters.

* Uncertainty... although the advisory is in effect for 18
hours... not all areas will experience snow or freezing drizzle
the entire time... as precipitation will be off and on in nature.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
