Fire Weather Warning

... Red flag warning in effect from 2 PM CDT /1 PM MDT/ this
afternoon to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ this evening for for gusty winds
and low humidity...

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a red
flag warning... which is in effect from 2 PM CDT /1 PM MDT/ this
afternoon to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ this evening. The Fire Weather
Watch is no longer in effect.

* Humidity... 4 to 11 percent.

* 20 ft wind... southwest 15 to 25 mph.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not throw cigarettes onto the ground or out of a moving
vehicle. Keep vehicles on driving surfaces... and do not drive
through tall grass.

Statement as of 06:48 am CDT on May 18, 2013 ... Record high temperature set at Midland... a record high temperature of 103 degrees was set at Midland yesterday. This breaks the old record of 101 set in 2001.
