Winter Storm Watch


... Winter Storm Watch in effect from 6 am MST Tuesday through
late Tuesday night...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Storm Watch... which is in effect from 6 am MST Tuesday through
late Tuesday night.

* Snow accumulations... expect greater than 4 inches with as high
as 10 inches across the higher terrain.

* Timing... snowfall will increase Tuesday morning and become
heavy at times during the afternoon to early evening.

* Winds... west/southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with localized gusts
to 30 mph near thunderstorms.

* Snow levels... temperatures should pretty much be cold enough
for snow at all locations although some of the lowest
elevations could see a mix of sleet/rain/wet snow Tuesday
morning and into the early afternoon.

* Local impacts... the potential exists for hazardous travel along
Highway 4 around the Valles Caldera and Highway 126.
