Winter Storm Warning

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Sunday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Sunday.

* Timing: from now through Sunday.

* Main impact: snowfall... heavy at times... along with blustery
winds of near 30 mph and gusts to around 45 mph resulting in local
areas of near blizzard conditions. Total snow accumulations of at
least 4 inches are expected in many areas from near Interstate 40
northward. It is likely that 6 to 10 inches of snow will fall in
some areas north through east of Oklahoma City with local
amounts up to 12 inches possible. Blowing and drifting snow may
result in drifts of 1 to 3 feet in some areas.

* Other impacts: wind chill temperatures will be in the teens.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected... as well as strong winds creating near-blizzard
conditions.
