Special Statement

... Cold front Saturday to bring a wet and cool weekend...

A cold front will move into south Texas Saturday morning... and
push off the coast midday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms
will occur along and ahead of the cold front. At this time... any
thunderstorms are expected to remain below severe limits... however
a few storms could become strong... producing wind gusts between 40
and 50 mph and small hail. Cooler air will move in behind the
front... with temperatures falling into the 60s during the
afternoon. The rain will temporarily taper off behind the cold
front in the afternoon and evening.

However... rain will increase in coverage overnight Saturday into
Sunday morning and persist through much of Sunday... in response
to an upper level disturbance. After morning lows in the upper
40s... highs will only climb into the lower 50s on Sunday.

Drier air will finally begin to filter into the area Sunday
night... reducing rainfall chances. Rainfall tonight through Sunday
night will generally average from 1 to 1 1/2 inches across south
Texas.
