Special Weather Statement


... Heavier snow showers over parts of the mountains...

Bands of snow showers will continue to move northeast across parts
of southeast West Virginia and southwest Virginia early this
evening. With temperatures falling to near freezing... the snow may
be heavy enough to cause roads to become snow covered and slick
especially after dark. The heaviest snowfall will likely affect
areas along Interstate 64 around Lewisburg to Covington... as well
as Interstate 77 in Mercer and Bland counties. Another band of
heavier snow will move down Interstate 81 and affect spots from
Marion and Wytheville east to Pulaski and Radford through 6:30 PM.
Motorists are advised to use extreme caution during their commute
into ealry this evening.
