... Gusty winds expected today across eastern Virginia and North
Carolina... as well as the Maryland Eastern Shore...

A strengthening low pressure system aloft over the eastern Great
Lakes will bring increasing strong southwest winds to the region
today. Windy conditions are expected across eastern Virginia and
North Carolina... and including the Maryland Eastern Shore... with
sustained southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with a few higher gusts
of 40 to 45 mph possible. Light weight objects like garbage cans and
lawn furniture left outdoors could be blown about. Persons driving
high profile vehicles should exercise caution.

The winds will begin to subside around 6 PM this evening.
