* Special Weather Statement for...
Watauga County in northwest North Carolina...
Ashe County in northwest North Carolina...
Smyth County in southwest Virginia...
Tazewell County in southwest Virginia...
central Grayson County in southwest Virginia...

* until 1030 am EDT

* at 930 am EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar was
tracking an area of moderate to heavy rain over far southwestern
Virginia into the mountains of northwest North Carolina. The
heaviest of the rain was falling just west of Richlands and
Saltville Virginia. Movement was to the southeast.

* Through 1030 am... showers with embedded thunderstorms will
continue to move across parts of Tazewell... Smyth... and Grayson
counties in Virginia... and into Ashe and Watauga counties in North
Carolina. Around a half inch of rain is likely this
morning... with upwards of an inch of rain where thunderstorms
occur.

* Locations that will be impacted include...
Richlands...
Tazewell...
Saltville...
