Flood Warning


The Flood Warning continues for
the Puyallup river near Orting
* until this afternoon.
* At 3:00 am Friday the flow was 5447 cfs.
* Flood flow is 4500 cfs.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood flow this morning.
* Impact... at 5000 cfs... the Puyallup river will flood some areas
along the upper Puyallup river above Orting. Areas include but are
not limited to the neadham Road vicinity... Orville Road east
vicinity in areas south of Brooks Road east and north of electron
Road... and the country subdivision/tomolla tree farm vicinity.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River near Buckley
* until further notice.
* At 3:00 am Friday the flow was 10657 cfs.
* Flood flow is 10000 cfs.
* Minor flooding is occurring. The forecast is for minor flooding.
* Forecast... the river flow will continue around 11000 cfs today.
* Impact... at 10000 cfs... the White River will flood areas above
and below Mud Mountain dam downstream. Deep and swift flood waters
will inundate roads and surround and cut off access to some homes.
10000 cfs on the White River corresponds to a phase 3 flood in the
King County flood system.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Chehalis river near Grand Mound
* until Saturday evening.
* At 3:00 am Friday the stage was 18.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring. The forecast is for major flooding.
* Forecast... the river crested Thursday night. The river will slowly
recede today and fall below flood stage midday Saturday.
* Impact... at 17.5 feet... the Chehalis river in Thurston County will
cause major flooding... inundating roads and farm lands in
Independence Valley. Deep and swift flood waters will cover sr-12
and James... Independence and moon roads. Flooding will occur all
along the river including headwaters... tributaries... and other
streams within and near the Chehalis river basin.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Skookumchuck river near Bucoda
* until late tonight.
* At 3:00 am Friday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring. The forecast is for moderate
flooding.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood stage late this afternoon.
* Impact... at 15.0 feet... the Skookumchuck river in Thurston County
will flood several residential and business areas around Bucoda.
Flood waters will cover many roads

The Flood Warning continues for
the tolt river near Carnation
* until this afternoon.
* At 3:00 am Friday the flow was 4630 cfs.
* Flood flow is 4500 cfs.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood flow this morning.
* Impact... at 4500 cfs... the tolt river will flood tolt river Rd and
many driveways. Some homes in the san souci area could be
inaccessible due to deep and quick flood waters. This river level
on the tolt corresponds to a phase 3 flood in the King County flood
system.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Snohomish river at Snohomish
* until Sunday morning.
* At 2:00 am Friday the stage was 33.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring. The forecast is for major flooding.
* Forecast... the river crested at 33.5 feet at 4 PM Thursday and will
slowly recede today. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday
night.
* Impact... at 33.0 feet... the Snohomish river will cause severe near
record flooding. Flood waters will likely overtop levees... with
major levee damage possible. Flood waters will inundate much of the
River Valley... including sr2 west of Monroe... sr9 and the
Lowell-Snohomish river Rd. Flooding will occur all along the river
including headwaters... tributaries... and other streams within and
near the Snohomish river Basin. A stage of 33 feet on the Snohomish
river corresponds to a phase 4 in the Snohomish County flood
program.

the Snohomish river near Monroe
* until Saturday evening.
* At 3:00 am Friday the stage was 22.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring. The forecast is for major flooding.
* Forecast... the river crested at 24.0 feet at 7 PM Thursday and will
continue to fall to below flood stage Saturday afternoon.
* Impact... at 22.0 feet... the Snohomish river will cause severe
flooding... with deep and swift flood waters inundating farm land...
residential areas... and roads. Levees could suffer overtopping and
major damage. Flooding will occur all along the river including
headwaters... tributaries... and other streams within and near the
Snohomish river Basin. A stage of 22 feet at this location
corresponds to phase 4 in the Snohomish County Flood Warning
system.

* At 3:00 am Friday the stage was 15.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring. The forecast is for moderate
flooding.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood stage Saturday evening.
* Impact... at 15.0 feet... the Cedar River will flood areas of Renton
including the Renton Airport.

* At 3:00 am Friday the stage was 7.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring. The forecast is for moderate
flooding.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood stage Saturday morning.
* Impact... at 7.0 feet... the Cedar River will cause major flooding
from Landsburg downstream through Maplewood. Deep and swift flood
waters will inundate many roads and some residential areas...
especially in Maple Valley. Flooding threatens sr-169. Flooding
will occur all along the river including headwaters...
tributaries... and other streams within and near the Cedar River
Basin. A stage of 7 feet on the Cedar River corresponds to a phase
4 flood in the King County flood system.

* until Saturday morning.
* At 3:00 am Friday the stage was 59.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 54.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring. The forecast is for major flooding.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood stage tonight.
* Impact... at 60.0 feet... the Snoqualmie river will cause severe near
record flooding from Fall City downstream through Carnation and
Duvall. Deep and swift flood waters will inundate Many Farms...
residential areas... and roads. Flooding will occur all along the
river including headwaters... tributaries... and other streams within
and near the Snoqualmie river basin.

the Snoqualmie river near the falls
* until this afternoon.
* At 2:30 am Friday the flow was 21520 cfs.
* Flood flow is 20000 cfs.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood flow this morning.
* Impact... at 20000 cfs... the Snoqualmie river will cause widespread
flooding of pasture lands and roads along the river from the town
of Snoqualmie downstream through Fall City. Roads that may become
flooded include Fall City-Carnation... Tolt Hill... and Novelty flats
roads. This river level on the Snoqualmie corresponds roughly to a
phase 3 flood in the King County flood system.
