The dense fog advisory above 2000 feet will expire at noon PST
today. An air stagnation advisory remains in effect until 10 PM
PST this evening.
Fog will continue to lift this afternoon in the Spokane...
Davenport... Deer Park... Colville... and Mansfield areas this
afternoon. Motorists should continue to exercise
caution... especially along the Highway corridor from Airway
Heights to Davenport to Wilbur. Some locally patchy dense fog may
persist into the early afternoon.
Air stagnation will continue to be a problem however. Light winds
and a strong temperature inversion will remain over the region
through the evening. The arrival of a low pressure system tonight
will weaken the inversion and bring rain to most areas tonight.
The arrival of the rain should improve the dispersion of low
level pollutants.
An air stagnation advisory is issued when stagnant air holds
pollutants close to the ground... where people live and breathe.
It is highly recommended that no outdoor burning occur during
times of stagnant air and that you restrict burning in your
indoor fireplace as much as possible.
An air stagnation advisory indicates that due to limited movement
of an airmass across the advisory area... pollution will increase
to dangerous levels. Persons with respiratory illness should
follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of
air pollution.
