Statement as of 10:19 PM PST on January 8, 2009

Areal Flood Warning

... The Flood Warning remains in effect until 300 am PST for small
streams in Chelan County...

As of 8 PM PST on Thursday... County officials reported that secondary
roads were still impacted by flooding from snowmelt and rain runoff.

Highway 2 from Coles Corner to Leavenworth was said to be reopened.
Stream flows on the Mad River... Mission Creek... and Peshastin creek
are down from Wednesday.

With the end of significant precipitation the risk for small stream
flooding is expected to recede into early Friday morning.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
