The air stagnation advisory is now in effect until 3 PM PST
Tuesday.
Strong temperature inversions in the lower levels continue to keep
mixing heights below 1500 feet today. Winds will remain light
today and overnight... limiting mixing and keeping pollutants
trapped near the ground in the Yakima Valley. Colder air moving in
behind a departing weather disturbance tomorrow will help weaken
the inversion and allow for better mixing and improved air quality
by the afternoon.
An air stagnation advisory indicates that due to limited movement
of an airmass across the advisory area... pollution will increase.
