Statement as of 10:42 PM EDT on May 22, 2013 ... Public information statement... A NWS meteorologist surveyed microburst damage from a severe thunderstorm that occurred around 3:30 PM on Wednesday may 22nd in Teays Valley... West Virginia. The microburst had wind speeds of 70-80 mph causing several trees to be blown down or uprooted... ultimately leading to the destruction of two Mobile homes and damage to several more Mobile homes. In addition... an uprooted tree turned a vehicle on its side. The microburst was approximately 150 yards wide and 0.32 miles long. |
