Winter Weather Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening.

* Short term trends... a band of light to moderate snow will
continue to shift southward across the area through the morning
hours. An additional 1 to 2 inches may accumulate by midday today.

* Storm total accumulations... total snow accumulations of 5 to 8
inches with locally higher amounts are expected from Monday
morning through this afternoon.

* Winds and visibility... northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 30 mph expected to develop late this morning.
Visibility will diminish significantly as winds increase due to
widespread blowing snow.

* Impacts... besides the slick and snow covered roads... travel
conditions will be challenging through late this afternoon and
tonight due to blowing and drifting snow... and reduced
visibility.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibility will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.
