Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, November 22, 2008.
A strong low pressure system will hover over Scandinavia on Saturday, bringing wet weather to most of Europe. Expect widespread scattered precipitation along the coasts of the Norwegian Sea, the North Sea, and over the European mainland. Stockholm will see snow showers with a high near 33(F)/ 1(C), while Paris will see rain showers with a high near 39(F)/ 4(C). A small ridge of high pressure will build over the British Isles and try to dry out the region. However, London may still see scattered showers with a high near 42(C)/ 6(C).
Meanwhile in the east, a trough will extend from the low in the north and trigger moderate to heavy precipitation over eastern Europe and western Russia. These storms are expected to develop over Hungary and will track southeastward along a cold front throughout the day. The front will strengthen and will be quite significant by Saturday evening, extending from northwestern Russia into Italy. Expect significant precipitation to develop anywhere along this front. Moscow will remain dry on Saturday with a few scattered clouds and a high near 42(F)/ 6(C). Rome will see rain and warmer conditions with a high in the upper 50s(F)/ 14(C). The Mediterranean will see widespread scattered showers as the front moves into the region. However, Barcelona will be well west of the storms, thus, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 60(F)/ 16(C).
