Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, March 19, 2010.
Several weather systems will produce an active weather pattern throughout Europe on Friday.
In the West, a low pressure system spinning to the north of the British Isles will swing a front with showery weather out of the United Kingdom and into mainland western Europe and Norway. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers are expected from Denmark through France, while fairly widespread mixed precipitation and strong winds are expected throughout Norway and the northern regions of United Kingdom. Behind this front, a brief period of drier weather will return to most of the British Isles before another low pressure system approaches the region from the southwest in the afternoon. The low will bring another round of precipitation to Ireland and the southern United Kingdom. A front associated with this low will usher wet weather into the Iberian Peninsula. Moderate widespread showers are expected across Portugal, while light scattered showers are expected throughout eastern Spain. London will see scattered clouds with a chance of showers and milder weather with temperatures near 57(F)/ 14(C). Meanwhile, Paris will experience partly cloudy skies and chance of rain with daytime highs near 60(F)/ 16(C).
To the south, rain showers are expected across Madrid with highs near 66(F)/ 19(C) , while dry and warmer weather conditions with temperatures near 64(F)/ 18(C) are expected in Barcelona.
In the East, a trough of low pressure will produce a mix of rain and snow across the Baltic States and western Russia as it shifts into Russia.
Meanwhile, southern and central Europe will remain under dry and fair conditions due to lingering high pressure.
