Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, March 21, 2010.

Wet weather will continue moving through Europe on Sunday. In the north, a low pressure system spinning in the North Sea will create a strong front that will extend into the European Mainland. This system will have obtained moisture from the North Sea, the English Channel, and the Bay of Biscay, and will spread scattered showers over central Europe and into the Mediterranean countries. Expect Paris and Munich to see rainy conditions with highs near 60(F)/ 16(C). To the south, expect Barcelona to only see a few scattered sprinkles, with highs in the upper 50s(F)/ mid-teens(C). The rest of the Mediterranean Sea will see mild weather as a weak ridge of high pressure hovers in the east. This will allow for sunny skies and pleasant weather in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Expect a few patchy clouds in Rome with highs in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C).

Meanwhile, behind this system, a small ridge of high pressure will build over the British Isles. This will push warm and dry air into the region, and allow for a break in wet weather. London, however, will see a few lingering showers with highs in the mid-50s(F)/ lower teens(C).

Elsewhere, precipitation will also persist in Scandinavia and western Russia as a low pressure system continues spreading moisture over the region. Due to temperatures bordering on freezing, this will allow for over night snow, with frozen rain and sleet, and light daytime rain showers. Moscow, Oslo, and Stockholm will see another sloppy day of mixed precipitation with highs near 40(F)/ 4(C).
