Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, March 20, 2010.

Expect another wet day over most of Europe on Saturday. A trough of low pressure will move from the Bay of Biscay, over the British Isles, and up the English Channel. This system will strengthen due to abundant available moisture from the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. This will spread scattered showers over France, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. London and Paris will be rainy with highs in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C). Munich will be a little cooler but will also see scattered rain showers with highs in the mid-50(F)/ lower teens(C). This system will create a wide trough of low pressure that will stretch over Scandinavia. Due to cool air pouring in from the north, many areas may see a messy combination of frozen rain and sleet overnight and in the early morning. Oslo and Stockholm may see periods of frozen precipitation with highs near 40(F)/ 4(C).

To the south, a ridge of high pressure will build over the Mediterranean Sea. This will push warm and dry conditions over the Mediterranean countries. However, the system to the north may push some clouds into the region. Thus, Barcelona will be overcast, while Rome will see patchy clouds, both with highs in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C).

Meanwhile, a slow moving trough of low pressure will continue moving through western Russia. Moscow will see another day of overcast skies and light rain with highs near 50(F)/ 10(C).
