Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday, March 18, 2010.

Most of Europe will see mild weather on Thursday, while Scandinavia and Eastern Europe may see some mild precipitation. A high pressure system spinning in the Mediterranean Sea will create a large ridge that will extend over most of central Europe. This will allow for plenty of sunshine and warm conditions on Thursday. Barcelona and Rome will be sunny with highs approaching 60(F)/ 16(C). London and Paris will see a few patchy clouds with highs in the mid- to upper 50s(F)/ mid-teens(C). These clouds will be produced by a low pressure system spinning just west of the British Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. This system has ample moisture associated with it and will spread wet weather over Iceland throughout the day, but most precipitation will hold off until late Thursday night for Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure will dip into eastern Europe from Scandinavia. This system will push cool air into the region, which will also spread into western Russia. Munich will remain behind this system under mostly sunny skies with highs near 50(F)/ 10(C). Krakow and Moscow, however, will be snowy with highs near 30(F)/ -1(C). Warmer conditions in the north will allow for a combination of frozen rain and sleet in Oslo and Stockholm as highs hover in the upper 30s(F)/ 3(C).
