Most of Mexico will continue to see mostly sunny skies to start off the weekend, although a high pressure system over the eastern coast of the U.S. will provide enough onshore flow to produce a few clouds and possibly a shower across the eastern coastline of the country. The northern half of Central America can expect a few showers, while heavy rainfall will move over Costa Rica and Panama on Saturday, making flooding a threat across those two countries. Meanwhile, a cold front will trigger scattered showers across the Caribbean Islands, with Hispaniola receiving the majority of the precipitation. No tropical development is expected over the next couple of days.
Heavy rain and strong thunderstorms will continue to flare up across the northern half of South America throughout the day on Saturday. Onshore flow from a high pressure system off of the eastern coast of the continent will aid in the production of showers and storms across the eastern coastline of Brazil. The northern half of Argentina will remain mostly clear throughout the day, while a front trekking across the southern tip of the continent will bring clouds and rain to the southern portions of both Chile and Argentina on Saturday.
