Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, March 21, 2010. The main weather producer in the country will be a strong storm that will continue moving through the Southern Plains and into the Southeast. As it moves eastward, it will pick up a tremendous amount of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. This moisture will translate to heavy rain, especially along the cold front that will move along the central Gulf Coast and into the Southeast. Behind the storm, a mixture of rain and snow will fall in the Middle Mississippi Valley due to the colder air that will fill the area behind the storm.

There is a potential for strong thunderstorms in the Southeast, but no severe weather is anticipated.

Precipitation will gradually move into the Ohio Valley and southern New England by the end of the day. This precipitation will increase into Monday in New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

A Pacific storm will press into the Northwest and Intermountain West, renewing rain and high elevation snow southward into Northern California.

The Northeast will rise into the 40s and 50s, while the Southeast will see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The Northern Plains will rise into the 40s and 50s, while the Middle Mississippi Valley will see temperatures in the 30s and 40s. The Northwest will rise into the 40s and 50s.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from a low of -9 degrees at Kremmling, Colo. to a high of 85 degrees at Rialto, Calif.
